  1. I never bothered to retest again. My setup does not use bluetooth for anything other than the remote. The only reason I tested at the time was to validate Maestro's findings. But it is far from being my usual setup. Only place I use a BT audio device is in the bedroom, on my old xrs4900, with my anker headphones, for watching TV after the wife starts snoring
  2. The output of the box is variable (if you don't have max volume enabled). 0 to 25 is just the fraction of the MAX volume the box outputs. As dishuser mentioned, if it is not loud enough for you, you should crank up the volume on your TV/Soundbar. They could have numbered it from 1 to 100 and go up in increments of 4 instead and it would still be the same total volume output by the box. I typically leave my TV at about 60% volume and then the 0 to 25 of the box is plenty. Some people prefer max volume enabled, and then just use the volume control from thier TV/Receiver/Sound bar instead. It's all personal preference.
  3. On Android 13 boxes (like the X5 SS which I just checked) there is an option under Device preferences->Display options for "Text Scaling". It has some fixed values to choose from (85%, 100%, 115% and 130%). However this option does not exist on previous version (Android 7, 9 or 11) boxes as far as I know. It does help a little, but you still get a limited number of characters. Keep in mind that this is an OS option and this setting affects EVERYTHING on the box, not just the guide. I would have liked to keep mine at 115% (getting older) But with that I would have liked to change the Guide view to be something like 5-6 rows (instead of 8 ), and instead of seeing 4 (30 minutes slots) to seeing only 2-3, to give each column a little more room. Making configurable would have been nice. Not going to speak for Buzz, but I think new features for BuzzTV 5 are not really a very high priority. Dynamic scaling for these things can be very tricky, so it can open a whole new can of worms. New boxes are coming now with BuzzTV 6 and I am sure the priority is on stabilizing that and adding new features to BuzzTV 6. I may actually make a request for this scaling feature for the guide for BuzzTV 6, so maybe one day it'll be added, but I am sure it is not a huge priority any time soon.
  4. Buzz is aware of it and working on a few more fixes, so I am sure it will be released shortly.

    G Series Specs

Liked it when we got it in recent update. But noticed one small side effect as I use it. If you press the OK button to get channel list and you are just scrolling through a bunch of channels to see what is playing on other channels, then you decide to just go back to full screen of the current channel playing, the back button, no longer does that Small work-around is to press right to get single EPG, and then when you press back it goes to full screen of current channel. But it is a workaround. Is it potentially possible to map it to LONG-press of back button with prompt to exit, like it is on BuzzTV 5 ? I'm saying that, but I have no clue on what restrictions Google imposes on buzz for standardization in their ecosystem.
  6. You will need to contact cs @ buzztv.com and explain it to them if you need to return for potential repair/replacement under warranty. Did you split your Wifi to 2 different SSID to force the router to split the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz to different SSID ? What router are you using ?
  7. What version of BuzzTV 6 do you have on your box ? 4k streaming issues were addressed in V1.0.302 (at least on the G Series), but should be same on Classic AI. When you report issues, you should provide a little more info next time. Sub type (MAC, XC, M3U). Firmware version V2026xxxx and BuzzTV S/W version (1.0.xxx). Kind of helps to know and make sure we are all talking about the same. And so someone can try to reproduce. General idea... Can't reproduce, can't fix.
  8. For me the EPG does get pulled and works fine with the main server I use, but when looking at channel list, by default channels all say "Live Stream" under them (not the guide). But in the playing video screen, if you press the second icon which is next to the "cast" icon (which looks like the bullet point list) it brings up the channel EPG.
  9. You'll have to do them one at a time. The only backup Buzz Provides is for the BuzzTV app to backup (export) the settings, servers, favorites). And no, there is no Cloud based DVR option at the moment. Each device is independent from one another.

    Shuts off

When you say "shuts down", are you talking about the box physically powering down (losing power), or the buzztv 6 app shutting down and force closing ? You sure your fan and external usb drive are not drawing too much power from the USB ports ? Don't forget, that this box is only fed by a basic 5V 2A power supply, so don't expect huge current being available from the USB ports.
  11. Works perfect fine with backup player also. I typically use backup for VOD/TV Series, and at least TV series which I use often, are flagged as watched. But like Ryu mentioned, you do need to let it finish. If you exit before it finishes, then you will need to manually flag the episode as watched. For External player, I also tested with VLC and it does not flag them as watched when finished. But that is expected, since the buzztv app just passes the filepath to the external player, and then get's no feedback except when the player exits. So it has no idea if player exited at beginning, halfway through or after finishing playing. Not even sure if the external player exits with en error if there is any real handling (since it is irrelevant to buzztv app).
  12. I have been using my buzz boxes for years, and primarily with same server. So once I set up everything the way I like it with all my options and favorites, I did a backup to USB key and I use that to restore quickly if I have to do a box reset for whatever reason, or when I get new boxes, and I can set them up quickly. On the same USB key, I keep a copy of all the apk for all the apps I like to always sideload. so that way it takes less than 5 minutes on a new box, and restore all my server settings, and install all my apps. So if you have a working box setup with all your favorites, just d yourself a favor and take a backup. Takes seconds, and the backup file is super tiny. If you want, you can even email it to yourself and leave it in your mailbox to make sure you don't lose it
  13. When you are in channel list, and you onto a channel with catchup available and then press Dpad-right to get the single channel EPG to see what programs are available, you can scroll up/down or other day (depending on what server has available) to select something, and then on the bottom color key legend you will see that the "blue" button will trigger a "download" of whatever you have highlighted. Has been there for AGES. And a similar download option exists for VOD/TV Series. With VOD/TV Series it is not a colored button, but actually a selection on screen where you can choose to "play" or "download" a little further to the right.
  14. Take a backup of the server info (onto a USB stick), so that way you don't have to manually reenter your server information all the time and redo all your favorites.
  15. First of all, the feature to download catchup has been on BuzzTV app for ages now. I use it all the time. First of all, what you are asking is NOT related to buzz really, since you are talking about a 3rd party app. The issue is imPlayer and the way it has implemented it. But just a summary, you will NOT be able to "move" the file, since you probably don't have write permission on that directory, .In order to move you technically copy from a directory (Which only needs read permission from that directory), but you need write permission in destination (which I assume you do if you are copying to a USB stick or something else). But to complete the move, it then deletes the file from that directory, which requires "write" permission which you do not have. OK, I over simplified it, since filesystem is a little different on android/linux than windows (mostly a quick inode update for a move on android), but permissions all still need to be there., and that is the general sequence of events. Since the buzz boxes are not "rooted" you don't have any way to gain write access to that directory.
  16. Are you using the Classic (All black) or Classic Anniversary (with Gold stenciling on top) ? If it is the original Classic, I can check again when I get home, but I am pretty sure I used it a few days ago.
  17. After reset, did you check if you were still at latest BuzzTV 5 s/w version ? Had a customer yesterday complain about the same issue after a reset. They manually checked for updates, updated to latest BuzzTV 5 again (even though it was updated pre-reset), did a clear EPG and then everything came in properly.
  18. Do you have VPN enabled when you try that ? If so, disable VPN first.
  19. So you split your 2.4 and 5Ghz bands and have 2 different WiFi SSID (to distinguish between the 2), and tried to connect using the 2.4Ghz band ? If so, then it is a compatibility issue with your router. Don't know what brand router you have, but as nbs mentioned, do what Ryu mentioned to effectively use a different wifi. I've seen many compatibility issues with many Dlink routers and many newer media boxes (Friends do not let friends buy/use dlink routers).
  20. I'm assuming his older boxes are on BuzzTV 4, since no X5 was ever delivered with BuzzTV 4. Having said that, very few devices which were initially delivered with 4, were NOT upgraded from 4 to 5.
  21. Dropping of WiFi could be just a compatibility with older router. Compatibility issues are common and more pronounced when you try to stream (constant streaming of data). Stuff like tablets and phones will most often not stress any wifi connection unless you try to do constant streaming over long periods. If your router has the option to disable "bandwidth steering", or option to separate the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands, do it. Some routers will combine both on a single SSID but they try to calculate and redirect connections to what "they" think is the best connection. So they may try with 5Ghz, and then realize it is not stable and try to switch back to 2.4Ghz.. But the router will often try to promote 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz when they see it is available again, and it is an never ending loop. Once you split the 2 bands and see a separate SSID for each band, then for streaming, try connecting to the 2.4Ghz band specifically, which is more stable over longer ranges. Other option if you are not too far, is to run an ethernet cable from your router to the box. That is the most stable connection.
  22. Not sure on the SS, but won't that be just for BuzzTV s/w updates ? Since this is firmware, it would be from home screen, settings (gear icon on top right), and select "Updates" from there and check for updates from there. You can also see in there what version of firmware you are presently running on the box (assuming it did not already take it automatically - which is should have prompted you are one point).
  23. Could be a codec compatibility issue with what your server uses and what is currently supported by BuzzTV 6. Should probably message buzz customer support (cs @ buzztv . com ), with the details of which server you are using and type of sub (MAC/XC/M3U). BTW: What type of Sub is it ? MAC/XC or M3U ?
  24. Further up you mentioned it was an M3U server. However On the pic above, it looks like you have selected a MAC server to connect when you got the error. Which one is it ?
  25. And CLEAR EPG most importantly to force it to repopulate Menu->settings->configuration->CLEAR EPG
