  1. On my LG, that was the only way. It is far from ideal, but if the total luminosity of a scene drops below a certain point many LG will dim the backlight to get a "true" black. I found it REALLY annoying, and I lived with it for far too long. I even contacted them asking if there was a way to get a firmware update which would allow to disable that dumb feature, and I was told I was out of luck. I have temporarily switched to an old Sharp Aquos and do not experience that issue. So unfortunately it is a trial an error. See if there is any options maybe on your TV (since it is newer than what I had), to disable this dynamic behavior. Often features like "Energy Saving" or "Dynamic contrasts" or some other auto features under HDR settings need to be disabled/enabled. It is all about trial an error and see what you prefer.
  2. This sounds like an LG problem honestly. I used to have an older LG and this is one of the reasons I got rid of it. In LG's effort to give you deeper blacks, when the total luminosity of the scene is below a certain level, it would decrease the backlighting to the point that it was too dark. It was very apparent when credits would go by at the end of a movie. Few credits, it was super black and could barely see the credits. A few more credits on the same screen and then it would be more of a charcoal black, but the white was more vivid. This was irrelevant on whether I was using a buzz box, my Mii box or even the integrated tuner using an OTA antenna. The only way to overcome it in my situation was to put the TV in store DEMO mode which was really annoying and far from ideal. I was glad when it failed, and did not feal bad replacing it. Have you tried adjusting the setting and playing around with the contrast/brightness/saturation settings on the Powerstation ? Maybe you can bring it up just enough to avoid the TV from trying to darken it more. Settings->Device Preferences->Display and Sound->Advanced Display settings->HDMI->Color Settings.
  3. If you reset your remote, and have Max volume set to off, then pressing the volume keys on the remote should show an OSD with volume level. So you can then control the volume to anything between 0 to 100. 100% being same as max volume on.
  4. I assume this only pops up when you use automatic ? I don't think this is show when you use "never". This is probably because the audio stream is not being processed by the box (format it does not decode), but being "passthru" to whatever receiver/processor you have to decode and therefore it does not have the ability to change the volume on it, you would need to control the receiver/processing device for that. Most who use receivers to process their audio will typically set max volume setting to true on the buzz box, and then control the volume of the TV/Receiver/soundbar", not the variable output possible from the box.
  5. I said firmware, but it could just be an app update (which is typically more frequent). On the Powerstation it was fixed in Version 189 of the BuzzTV 6 software from August 2025. "Fixed App Reorder Feature on Home Screen"
  6. This is a very similar bug to when the Powerstation was released. Will certainly be fixed with an upcoming firmware update. It's a brand new box, so some little irritants are normal as people will start putting it through the tests. Buzz typically sends out quite a few updates at the beginning to try to address them quickly. Pointing them out, always helps put them in the dev's bug report/list.
  7. Best place for BuzzTV 6 feature and enhancement requests, would be this dedicated thread: https://stbtalk.com/topic/14151-buzztv6-application-wishlist-for-new-features-and-enhancements/
  8. Dev support on weekends.. Now that is dedication. Typical of Buzz They always stand behind their products.

Actually the box YOU received was customized just for you. As soon as you plugged it in, it detected your hardware configuration, sent the configuration back to the mother ship, and it then proceeded to adapting the last remote firmware you got, to ensuring you would be frustrated.
  10. For URL you used: https://SERVERNAME.best (not the whole thing with the api stuff). Then entered USERNAME and PASSWORD in the user/pass fields ? I have tried many servers, but have never seen one that offers "ONLY" M3U list. Obviously it has something to do with the encoding of the streams themselves, and the player used on Buzztv 6/Powerstation does not seem to like it. If your reseller says it should work with Tivimate, then he obviously should give you more instructions on how to set it up. Tivimate would work the same on the Powerstation, as it would with any other Android box.
  11. Something is obviously not correct. Youtube is typically installed automatically upon first power up. And even updated upon the first firmware update the box will take. I strongly recommend you do a full hard factory reset on the box before trying to configure it further. Not sure what state that box was in from the seller you ordered it from. The procedure is same as in the video below (even though video is for a an older model).
  12. Hardwired or WiFi ? If it is WiFi, it could be a compatibility issue with your router. I have a B5 and setup 2 others for a friend, and no issues. Is it just your IPTV ? Does Youtube work ?
  13. The box itself is capable of 4K. I can't comment about anything other than plain stereo (since that is all I use with it), but I would be surprised it doesn't support some of the basic 5.1 surround via passthrough. However there are NOT many services out there that provide 4K streams. Many claim they do, but many are also "fake 4K". 4K, which has actually been upscaled, or bitrate incredible reduced that 1080p actually looks better. Many services may have a 4K "category" with a few 4K channels but rarely a huge selection. Not saying they don't exist, but most are not. I'd rather see a real 1080p stream with proper bitrate to avoid artifacts, than a crappy 4K with reduced bitrate that just makes me nauseous Keep in mind that the L1 is the buzz entry level box. There are no frills. Basic IR remote, Linux OS (so no app store or sideloading of other apps), with basic Dual band WiFi and only 10/100 ethernet (no gigabit). Nice box for basic IPTV use, and quite cheaply priced in consequence. But if you are looking for more advanced features, you may want to look for the higher level boxes, like the BuzzTV Classic series. And the recently releases G-Series google certified boxes.
  14. This is usually caused by the type of encoding done on their streams (usually happens to a lot of public streams). BuzzTV 6 and BuzzTV 5 use different video players. In case you were not aware of it, the Power station does also have BuzzTV 5 available in the apps section which you can use if you want. Does your provider offer an XC stream option ? It's usually the best option (instead of M3U). You can probably try it yourself and see if it works. Your M3U URL string is probably in the form (BTW: if you do have an "output=" option at the end of your string, what is it ?) http://your.server/get.php?username=[username]&password=[yourpassword]&type=m3u_plus&output=mpegts If you create an XC server, from the M3U string. You can use any "name" for the Server. use the "your.server" value for your server URL. Use the "[username]" field for the username and similar for [password]. And then save and try to connect. If you want to try Tivimate, you can download the apk to your PC, copy the apk file to a USB stick and then you can insert usb stick into the Powerstation and go to file manager and install it.
  15. If they have preloaded and "locked" your programming information (so you can't see the URL - and possible username/password), they yes. My servers are all unlocked and URL/url/password have been given to me, so I can re-enter all my server information myself after a reset. Ask your seller if they can give you the server/credentials for your service, since you may possibly need to do a reset of the box due to odd behaviours.
  16. I have tested the L1 quite a bit and sure I've had a few minor things, but I have never had any of the 2 issues you describe. Maybe you need to do a reset of the box and try again.
  17. Actually, does anything work other than Manage Apps, Rename and Delete Row ? Changing from Row to Grid, Visible option, Show Names, and Size don't seem to have an effect. And if you scroll to the top and use the return arrow on the top right of each menu (instead of using the return button on remote), you will find youself in a strange state with things dimmed and no control. You'll need to hit home, any other "shortcut" button, or the return button to activate something since DPAD is not responsive.

  20. I don't recall if there is an "AFR" (Auto Frame Rate) option available on this device under advanced video settings, but if it does, it can sometimes help if you turn it off.
  21. As I said in your other post. Start your own thread instead of hijacking and reviving 2 yr old threads that have ZERO to do with your question.
  22. Your question has nothing to do with the current thread. Reviving a 2yr old thread is NOT the way to go. You should start your own thread for your own question.
  23. No thermal paste. For thermal paste to be of any use, you need a heatsink. Thermal paste or pads are only meant to allow/facilitate the heat transfer from the drive to a heatsink so it can be dissipated easier.
  24. So my understanding, you are wondering why there is no "buzztv SMART REMOTE" option ? Keep in mind the remotes are very different. The X5 and the Powerstation have "smart" remotes (BT400/BT500) which you program to your TV and all. The Classic uses the BT350 which is not a Smart remote by the same definition. You do pair it using Bluetooth, and other than the 4 IR learning buttons, there is no programming the remote to match your TV, etc.. I typically don't program my BT400/BT500 remotes to my TV anyhow, but some do. The BT350 does not have that option (and I personally prefer it that way). I prefer the BT100/200/250 and 350 remote layouts, over the BT400/BT500 remotes, but that is personal taste. Since you are not "programming/matching" the remote to your TV in the same fashion you really don't need that app on the Classic Anniv, hence why it is not included. That smart remote app is included typically on devices that ship with the BT400 or BT500 remote.
  25. With very few exceptions, firmware updates for remotes would typically go out at the same time as box firmware on the classic buzz boxes. Do you not have a "remote" app in the settings menu, or under Buzz Utilities ? where you can map your colored buttons and you can see remote firmware version, etc.. ? The new Gbox (with google remote) is the only buzz box where remote updates go out as standalone remote updates. Is there something not working with the BT350 anyhow, which you believe it needs a firmware update ?
