  1. First of all, what box are you using ? This honestly sounds like some sort of permission issue (like windows displaying on top of other app or something like that). Typically when you scroll over the Settings icon on the top you don't even need to click OK, it should automatically open a window to the right of it, and only then if you press OK would you go into settings. Otherwise you could scroll around in there and go to Server Settings, and other options. I would say try to switch theme to buzzTV modern 2, which you can then just scroll off to the right, and you would switch to settings screen, but if you can't get into settings, it would be hard to switch theme 🙂
  2. Same here. I have never had to set screen resolutions. Pretty sure the box gets the equivalent of an EDID from the screen/TV it is connected to, to know the capabilities. Unless you are using the old "A/V" port for basic composite video 🙂
  3. Posts are perfect here also. Nothing blank. Maybe it is a forum theme issue. If you go to the bottom of this page, there is a small dropdown for "theme". Many things are broken in anything by the "4.4 default" theme.
  4. You cannot revert once an update is installed. If you are having problem, have you tried a factory reset ? Maybe some other software you had installed is misbehaving ? I have 2 xrs4900 boxes and both work perfectly, even after the latest updates. If you can't to a factory reset through the settings menu, you can always to a hard reset. This video shows you how (it's for the 4500, but the 4900 is identical). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l1x3KJl_jE
  5. Click anywhere in the article except the blue button (like the title or the picture of the 4900), and it will take you to the article 🙂
  6. Both BT and IR don't work ? If you "point" the remote to the box, it still does not work ? Have you tried unplugging the box, and then re-plugging it back in to force a clean boot ? Sometimes the Bluetooth will do strange things after a major firmware update. What I do in those cases, is simply go into the settings for Remote and accessories, unpair the remote, and then re-pair it again. Takes a whole 2 minutes max.
  7. Some services allow you to only have 1 connection at a time. Others however allow 2 or more (some up to 5) simultaneously on the same account. If they don't specify, it is typically 1 connection. If they allow more than one connection at the same time, they typically advertise it, since it is a selling point. Others allow you to add as many connections as you want for a small additional fee per connection. If you are watching Live TV, just hit the Menu button, then go down to settings, and then select Account info. You will see how many "max" connections your service allows and how many are active. If you have a max of 1 connection, then you will only be able to record the channel you are watching. I don't understand what you mean by " I have set up two Mac servers for the same IPTV server". Your box only has a single SERVER ID (MAC) - unless you are using a 3rd party app (like STBEmu) which allows you to use whatever MAC you want - but that would defeat the purpose of a Buzz box 🙂
  8. BTW: It is no longer Beta. It has been out of beta for quite a while now. The update procedure installs beta first, but them updates to the latest (non-beta 5.0.779 right now). What remote are you using ? IR or BT ? If you are using a BT remote, have you tried just pointing the remote to the box and and using the IR only ?
  9. If update still doesn't work, you can update to V20220106 using this (instructions included): The after reboot, give it a few minutes and it will continue and take the latest firmware and latest BuzzTV 5.
  10. If you are a little tech savvy, check this out: If you don't, then contact Buzz directly and they will take care of you.
  11. I have not tried it on the X5, since I have it wired. But I was just speaking in general about some previous android boxes. I think it also depends a lot on your WiFi. Like I said, my old cheap router I had all sorts of strange issues. Switched to high end WiFi access points (Cisco Aironet 2800 series), and have not had issues with most of my equipment since then.
  12. Are you putting your x5 into suspend mode when you turn it off, or is it a full shutdown ? Mine are all hardwired, but I recall many android boxes over the years when I would use them with WiFi, I often had issues for them to reconnect, or would take forever to reconnect if coming out of a suspend mode (those that supported suspend). After I replaced my old router with new access points, the problem seemed to go away for the most part (but still happened on occasion). From then, what I would do, is ensure my box was set to do a full shutdown, so each time I powered it on, yes it took 30 seconds more to boot, but it was always a clean boot and never had those kind of issues when doing clean boot. Hell even some windows laptops are braindead when they come out of suspend mode.
  13. I don't use Wifi either. Mine are all hardwired. But I believe it is the same network chip internally that handles the WiFi and BT. I could be wrong, however 🙂
  14. I have 2x 4900 boxes. On my older box box, I "sometimes" (not too often) get a message that Bluetooth has stopped. I press the return key a few times, it goes away and everything works fine after that (including the Bluetooth - for the remote at least). On my other box (which is newer), I never get that message. I suspect that over the numerous updates (including Betas) something has gotten latched somewhere. I've been meaning to do a full reset on that box, but have not done so yet. Changing primary servers in a few weeks on that box, so I may use that as an opportunity to start clean. But it happens so rarely (and I know my box is overdue for a reset), that I have completely ignored it. One thing that did help however is to go into the Network settings and cycle the Wifi on, wait 5 seconds ,and then cycle it back on. When I do that, I go for weeks before seeing the message again.
  15. If you wish to factory reset your remote to erase all settings press and hold the D-Pad Down button and the 0 (Zero) button for 4 seconds until it blinks 3 times to indicate the remote is factory reset. https://buzztv.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/BT400-300_manual_WEB_v6_Compress.pdf
  16. If you have formatted your media as FAT32, then the max file size is 4GB. So that "may" be the limitation you are experiencing. You would probably be better off putting your drive onto a PC, and formatting it as exFAT which does not have that single file size limitation. Have you tried temporarily (as a test) trying to save it to the internal storage ?
  17. No. BuzzTV 5 was only targetted for boxes running Android 9 and above. If I am not mistaken, the Mate 1 is on Android 7.1. So was for the xr4000 and above boxes. The Buzz 3000 series, Mate 1, and even the E1 series are not included.
  18. With just Clear cache, NO. Clear Data, YES. all buzztv5 info is gone. You will need to re-enter all your server info, redo all you favorites, and schedules.
  19. My experience with the buffering with TS on, was with the X5. However, this was with a previous firmware version, and with a USB key which may have been problematic, so there are few different variable. However, It is a simple test (to disable it - if enabled - and see if it is any better).
  20. If you are using the Timeshift option (under PVR options), try disabling it. I did have an issue with buffering not long ago, but changed media and seems to be fine now. But when I had the issue, Turing off Timeshift would no longer buffer.
  21. Send your info via PM to @allaboutbuzz I know the August update was targeted for devices running the following versions: 20220518 20220616 20220714 20220805 So maybe the 20220324 was overlooked accidently.
  22. Huh ? I just tried it on my 4900 and if I turn off TS and change channels to ensure TS is not still active... Then if I try to pause (on a channel with no catch-up), it completely ignores it (does nothing - which is what I expect). Tried with both Primary and backup players just in case. Now, surprisingly, if I try that on a channel that supports catch-up, then it will pause, but when I try to resume, it just hangs, and after playing with a few keys it finally gives me the dialog to "switch to liveTV". But it does not resume gracefully if TS is off, and you try it on a channel that supports catch-up. At least not on the server I am using. If TS is on, and I have it setup to go to my SSD sata drive I have installed internally, it pauses and resumes without a hitch, nice and smoothly. @Myojohn since you don't have them, that confirms that that was only added as of Buzztv5 (which you don't have yet).
  23. Should be plenty (you can even limit the cache size. Not sure if it is available on BuzzTV4, I think it was introduced in BuzzTV5. You go into the menu, pvr, pvr options, and you will have an option for Timeshift in there, and a few other related options under that. But like you said, you will probably see that once you upgrade to 5.
  24. On buzztv 5 as long as you are using the Primary player, and Timeshift (TS) is turned on in the setting (and a decent USB storage used), then you should be able to pause LiveTV.
