that light is the buzztv logo once turned on you have a clock on every screensettings from home screen not from menu in live tvare you trying to watch a different channel while recording another?how would that be possible?user error is not many issues?lol where's your screenshots to prove these many issues?paired is bluetooth mode instead of ir once paired it will show connected under buzztv bt-200you can point remote anywhere and it will work and you can check battery levelhome/settings/advanced settings/remotes and accessoriesunpair and repair remotenot sure how a remote could possibly affect setting up a reminder my bt-200 worx great on my 4900
