I purchased MX player pro thru Google Play store on my phone. When I goto Google Play store on the 4500 it says buy. So I goto buy and says already purchased. So can't install. Has any one come across this. Thank you.

According to this link from Google
https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/113410?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=en-GB

This should be possible

But I did some reading on some Q&As
And there were 2 reasons given as to why this may not be possible

1. The app developer restricts this from happening, in this case MX player
2. You paid for the Phone app, and the box is trying to install the Tablet app.  Which is considered a separate version.

Funny thing MX player free version with neon codec pack does the job. That makes no sense at all.

Ok
Does that work for you?

Am not really sure what the PRO version offers
I know MX Player was purchased by an Indian TV company a few years ago, and being used for that now.

not a lot of difference ,its mostly to do with subtitles and a few other features
