Zachary Smith Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Like the title says External Storage no longer recognized. It was working fine but now cant get it to connect. I do get a pop up from File Manager plus if i want it to open the drive but it wont show up on the device. Quote

USB stick, or a USB hard drive (which potentially may need more power than USB port can provide) ? Have you tried a different usb storage devices ? I just check my G-Series and had no issue with 2 different brand USB stick, one 16GB and the other 64GB. Went into file manager plus , then inserted it and it showed up in the list, navigate to the drive and hit OK and had no issues accessing the files. If you go to "Quick settings (top right gear icon)"->All Settings (top right gear icon again) -> System -> Storage Other than the internal storage, do you see any other storage below it (removeable storage) ? If you gave enabled "developer options", try disabling them as a test. I know there are some that can cause the box to act funny. Quick settings (top right gear icon)"->All Settings (top right gear icon again) -> System -> Developer options and disable the first option to disable them all. Then reboot the box. I assume you have tried unplugging the power (usb-c) connection to the box, and then plugging it back in to ensure a clean fresh boot (fixes 90% of the issues) ? 3 Quote
Zachary Smith Posted August 27 Author Posted August 27 Its working now. I think it rebooted and lost connection then took a few tries to get it back. Its a 1tb samsung T7. It works on all my devices so its not a power issue. Quote

Emporium Posted August 27 Posted August 27 And according to Samsung, this drive requires a minimum of 5V/0.5A (which is not an issue typically), however it can require up to 1.5A during heavy data transfers (which may be more than some boxes are designed for). When the power supply of the box is a 5V, 2A - you can't expect it to provide 1.5A to an external device. External devices are expected to be extremely low power, or data only (self powered). 2 Quote
