U5 HDD keeps safely ejecting the WD SSD Blue USB drive and will not reconnect.

pull the drive hook it back up to computer and format then reinstall

assuming they have a usb to hard drive case

How do you turn off the Buzz 5 box?

Itis paired with the TV. when turned off , the TV goes off, but BUZZ U5 remains on. Blue LED sign remains blue

Check your cec settings 

Any particular settings you could please suggest?

try cec on

if that don't work try virtual cec on
