March 27, 20224 yr In a rural area and now have access to 5G signal with new Telus wireless hub. Has greatly improved our download and upload speed, download speed averaging 20+mbps, but now have issues streaming with our xr4500., At times, constant buffering makes it impossible to watch programming. Switched back to old Telus hub on 4G network and streaming improves.
March 27, 20224 yr Author Just to clarify, 5G signal might be weaker than 4G, but download & upload speeds are much faster than 4G. 5G download speeds average 20+Mbps, upload 4-5mbps. 4G download will average 8-10mbps, upload under 1mbps. Streaming on multiple servers, experience constant buffering at times with 5G network, 4G offers more dependable streaming.
