  1. I also don't do anything sensitive on the boxes [or even on my phone] and I also disabled Google Protect for the same reason [although I'll find it re-enabled from time to time]. I just don't understand how it could create an 2nd account on my X5 just by me opening the app. Thanks!
  2. I'm the only one with direct access and hopefully the only one with access at all. The issue is not that it's there because I very well may have installed it on advice of an "expert." The issue is the second account that was just created after I opened the app. The second account was not created by me. If it's a safe app to use, why would a second account be created on my X5 just by my opening the app?
  3. A couple of days ago I was going through the apps on my X5, looking to see which ones I might want to delete. I opened Virus Total Mobile, an app I don't remember ever using and don't even remember installing. I closed it fairly quickly and moved on. I just noticed that in settings it said there were 2 accounts - mine and Virus Total Mobile. Is this an app that should be deleted? Any other security measures I should take? It's in the Google Play Store. When I attempted to post this, the spam protection error message box popped up and said my registration has been denied, to contact admin at cs@buzztv.com. Forbidden! You sent forms too often. Wait a few minutes. It's been months since I submitted a question. When I attempted to email, the email address was flagged and I was instructed to correct it.

Thanks for all of the information. My BT400 doesn't pair with my tv so I am now using the BT400, tv remote and sound bar remote. Not ideal. Someone had posted that they were using their .onn remote. I was trying to locate it to ask them directly how they did it but was unable to find the post. The experience I've had with the BT400 combined with the large number of complaints on forums and reviews does make me eager to purchase another one. I'm also not anxious to spend more money if I don't have to. I don't require a lot of bells and whistles with a device. The simple, basic features working is all I need. Thanks again.

For those who are using a remote other than a BuzzTV remote [such as the .onn remote], how did you pair it? I'm at my wits end with this one and want to see if one I have on hand will fill in until I can get another one.

Apparently, it's not comedy central either.

Because the issue was not resolved.

The remote either requires multiple presses to get a response or it is super sensitive. When typing in search topics, it frequently enters multiples of the same letter/number. Then when I go back and delete the duplicate, it removes both letters/numbers. It just took me over 15 minutes to enter an m3u url because of this. Sometimes it goes up or down a menu at lightning speed but the button itself is not in a stuck position. After opening a menu box on an app, I've found that the only way to accomplish what I'm trying to do is to press the very, very bottom of the OK button. Pressing it in the center either gets no response or a response I'm not trying to get. The battery level is 99%. The remote has never been dropped, sat on or had anything spilled on it. It is intact and in pristine condition. It did this straight out of the box and has gotten worse.
  10. There are no other devices near it, in the same room or even in adjoining rooms. I disable wifi on the device on occasion to refresh the connection. The problem is that the box also turns off wifi on its own. While watching a program, I will lose connection then find that wifi has been turned off. It was turned on when I started watching. Cover is intact. It has never been sat on, rolled over on, dropped, had anything spilled on it.
  11. Remote has already been factory reset once, maybe twice.
  12. Some of these issues started right out of the box, they've just gotten worse and new ones have developed. I had some challenges with setup and tech support talked me through them. Even with them helping, setup took forever. I commented then that the remote was hinkey.
  13. Thank you. I unpaired and re-paired it. Issues persist.
  14. Power option is already set to shutdown Yes, batteries have been replaced. Remote has never been dropped, never fallen or been handled with wet hands. Nothing has ever been spilled on it. It is intact.
