We are excited to roll out the latest update for the BuzzTV 6 IPTV App! This is one of our biggest releases yet. It brings Downloads for movies and series, a new GStreamer player, new home screen launchers, voice search and a faster EPG, plus a long list of fixes for a smoother streaming experience.

🆕 New Features & UI Enhancements

Downloads & Playback

• Added New Feature: Downloads for Movies & Series: You can now download movies and TV series episodes to watch later. Downloads are also available from List View, and you’ll get a notification when a download finishes or fails.

• Added New Feature: GStreamer Player: A new GStreamer player option has been added. Try it if a stream isn’t playing well on the default player.

Home Screen

• Added New Feature: New Home Screen Launchers: You can now choose a Roku-style or Apple TV-style launcher from the new launcher selection screen. A new Simple View layout is included too.

• Added “All Apps” to Mag & Lite Themes: The Mag and Lite home screen themes now have an “All Apps” section, so you can reach every installed app quickly.

• Improved Picture-in-Picture with HDR: Picture-in-Picture now shows on the home screen even when HDR is turned on.

Content & Personalization

• Added New Feature: VOD Info Source: Choose which database supplies the info and artwork for your movies and series.

• Added Metadata Images in List View: List View now shows background artwork for movies and series.

• Redesigned VOD & Series Info Screen: The info screen has a cleaner layout, and the info pop-up text in List View is larger and easier to read.

• Added New Theme Colours: New colours have been added to the theme selection menu.

• Added M3U Playlist from USB: You can now add an M3U playlist straight from a USB drive.

• Added Low Storage Warning: The app now warns you when your internal or external storage is running low.

Search, Guide & Multi-Screen

• Added Voice Search: A voice search button has been added to the Search keyboard.

• Improved Keyboard & Search Placement: Keyboard support is better, and the Search option has moved to a spot that’s easier to reach.

• Faster EPG Loading: The EPG loads faster and no longer asks the server again for guide data it already has.

• Added Auto-Scrolling Titles in the Grid EPG: Long program titles now scroll automatically, so you can read the full name.

• Improved Multi-Screen Channel Selection: Picking channels for each screen in Multi-Screen is quicker and easier.

Recordings

• Added Editing for Scheduled Recordings: You can now edit a recording after you’ve scheduled it.

• Improved Recording Error Messages: When a recording fails, the app now tells you clearly what went wrong.

🛠️ Bug Fixes & Performance Improvements

Recording & Playback

• Fixed Scheduled Recordings: Scheduled recordings now wake the box from sleep. They also stay in the background instead of switching over to the player.

• Fixed GStreamer Playback: HTTPS streams now play and record with GStreamer. GStreamer also works when Audio Output isn’t set to Auto.

EPG & Guide

• Fixed XML EPG Not Loading: XML EPG sources load correctly again.

• Fixed Guide Button in the EPG Grid: The Guide button in the EPG grid works again.

Servers, Backups & Metadata

• Fixed Restoring from Backup: Restoring servers from a backup no longer fails when there are movies in shared categories.

• Fixed Locked Servers, Expired Server Downloads & Episode Info: Fixed editing locked servers and downloading from expired servers. Episode info no longer disappears either.

Stability & UI

• Fixed Crash on Long Episode Lists: The app no longer crashes when you scroll through a long list of episodes.

• Fixed List View & Navigation: The colour buttons and hold-OK work again in List View. Category navigation in Grid view is fixed, and home screen rows no longer cover the Picture-in-Picture window.

• Fixed Theme Colours: Button and icon colours now display correctly in the B&W and Scorched Magenta themes.

• Fixed Radio History: Clearing your Radio history no longer clears your Live TV history.

• Fixed Minor UI Issues: Fixed the “Loading...” flash in the channel list, the grey box in Multi-Screen, the wrong button being selected in the recording popup, and QR code issues.

• Fixed Google Play Permissions: Fixed an app permissions issue with Google Play.
