BuzzTV X5 Unresponsive to remote random reboot

Featured Replies

This issue has happened twice so far (within days).  I’m looking for any suggestions that I haven’t already tried

I was streaming on the device when it rebooted out of nowhere.  It seems to boot up fine but now does not respond to the remote unless its factory rested.

Attaching a USB mouse gets me so far since it doesn’t seem  to be able to really click on any of the apps.  I can get the most over to the app but it doesn’t open when I double click it.

The mouse does  get me far enough to attempt to re-pair the remote but that did not help.

I’m wondering if there is anything else I can try before factory resting it again for a 3rd time.

I factory reset though the software. I did look for an external reset button but I really didn’t look that hard since I was able to do it though the software.

The light in the front is a solid red if that helps.

Never mind that red light was me not having the HDMI plugged in from shuffling things around.

Ok so this is crazy.

Having unplugged my hdmi and plugging it back in it appears my remote is working again.

I honestly dont understand why that would be a factor at all.

Here is the guide to do a hard reset

The button can be a little tricky to find sometimes Its near the top of av hole and you can feel it

Thank you for telling me where the hard reset is in the event that I need it.

I have plenty of HDMI cables so I will definitely replace it and see if it helps.

 Really appreciate it!

have you read and try what Lovell did?

Ryu

not clear on Lovell's last quote ( is about Hard reset and replacing HDMI... but not sure what exactley done and what's out come)

so Lovell removed hdmi cable and put it back, and it resolved the issue. Lovell said they have extra hdmi cables so if Lovell thinks thats the issue then Lovell will replace hdmi cable before reset box.
